Partial approval granted for Naidupet WtE project

The municipal administration of Guntur has apparently approved plans to set up a 15 MW WtE facility in Naidupet near Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. As reported by The New Indian Express, the project is developed by company Jindal Power (JP) on behalf of the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) and the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC). However, JP still has to obtain an industrial permission as well as clearance by the responsible environment and pollution control board. The planned facility should treat around 1,200 tpd of waste and was stated to cost around INR 1.5 billion (USD 22.4 million).
