Plan to replace Nagpur WtE project with a bio-CGN and composting plant

97 villages are being selected for a World Bank supported sanitation project in Telangana

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has proposed to replace the Nagpur WtE project with a bio-CGN and composting plant. According to The Times of India, NMC has submitted the proposal to the State Government. In return, the State Government has requested for a detailed report on the two new projects. Initially, a WtE plant with a capacity to process 800 tonnes of waste into 11.5 MW of electricity daily, was planned by NMC. Due to delay in project implementation, the civic body sought for a replacement in the WtE project. This new proposal could lead to the termination of agreement between NMC, Infraprojects Private Ltd. and Hitachi Zosen.
