Planned Gorur WtE plant to be relocated

The state government of Karnataka has decided to choose another location for the Gorur, Magadi taluk Waste-to-Energy plant. According to the report by the New Indian Express, the plant is likely to be moved to Nelamanagala in the Bengaluru Rural district or to the Bengaluru Urban district. The decision was prompted by several protests by local residents who are opposing the plant’s location. The planned 29 MWel plant should be set up by a private firm called Satarem Enterprises.
