Plans for 4 new biomethane plants in Bhubaneswar

Plans by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to set up four biomethane plans in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, Odisha State, have been approved by the Empowerment Committee of Infrastructure.

In total, the plants should process 200 tpd of wet biowaste to generate 4 tpd of biomethane.

The plants should reportedly be operated in PPP mode, for which the BMC has published tenders. Investment costs per plant are estimated to amount to INR 1 billion (EUR 10.96 million).
