A new biogas plant by oil and gas company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) should be set up at the dumping ground complex at Maheshwari Khurd, Uttar Pradesh.
The plant should process 130 tpd of garbage from the Municipal Corporation area to produce biogas. The facility is planned to be operational within the next 1.5 to 2 years. Construction work should start as soon as possible.
