Plans for waste to charcoal plants in Haryana

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVNL) and the government of Haryana are planning to sign an MoU for the construction of new waste to charcoal plants. Plants are to be set up in Haldwani, Vadodara, Noida, Gorakhpur, and Bhopal, amongst others, all located in Haryana.

According to the source, the plants are to use MSW to produce energy from the charcoal. According to the source, a 1,200 tpd plant is being set up near Gurugram and Manesar, and a 1,000 tpd plant in Mothuka.
