Locals of five nearby villages have decided to address the Punjab and Haryana high court in their protest against the under construction WtE plant in Bandhwari, according to The Times of India. Their concerns about health impacts and contaminated water and soil were shrugged off by the chief minister, who announced a road project linking Bandhwari with Sector 57 and a visit to the Ecogreen plant in China. The Bandhwari WtE plant should process about 450,000 tons per year with an input capacity of 10 MW. A case against the facility is already underway at the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
