Punjab fixes WtE feed-in tariffs

A generic feed-in tariff for power generated through WtE was set by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). The tariff for electricity produced through mass burning WtE projects was set as INR 6.5 per KWh (USD 0.09) , while electricity generated through RDF treatment will yield INR 7.59 (USD 0.11) per KWh. These fixed tariffs will be applicable for a period of 20 years. The measure aims to enhance conditions for the private sector to participate in WtE projects in Punjab. This was reported by the Daily Pioneer.
