Around 176 legacy waste dump sites have been identified in the 196 ULBs across Rajasthan. Rs 370 crore will be required for the remediation work. The timeframe for clearing all dumpsites in the state has been pushed from March 2023 to March 2024. A waste-to-energy plant work order has been awarded for Jaipur and Jodhpur.

With respect to composting, only garden composting and pit composting have been taken into the present processing capacity. A cluster approach has been taken. 10 plants will cover 15 urban local bodies. Biomethanation plans in Udaipur (20 TPD) and Dungarpur (7 TPD) plants are operational. Further, in Jodhpur (100 TPD) and Jaipur (400 TPD), biomethanation plant proposals have been provided to the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under the viability gap funding (VGF) scheme of the government of India.
