A citizen group in Bengaluru has submitted a petition over 375 pages, in order to convince the government to shut down the mixed waste processing plant in Kudlu. The plant, which is operated by the Karnataka Compost Development Corporation (KCDC), is located in the middle of a residential site and receives an average amount of 150 tons of mixed waste daily, even though the capacity of the plant was designed to process 100 tons per day only. A decision regarding the citizen’s petitions is expected to be made within the next few days, as further stated by The Economic Times.
