Second WtE plant for South Delhi

In order to meet state unit chief Manoj Tiwari’s plan to free South Delhi from garbage, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has decided to set up a second Waste-to-Energy plant soon. The corporation targets the segregation of garbage at source into biodegradable, dry and hazardous waste. According to SDMC commissioner Punit Goyal, formalities will be completed within the next 2 months. In recent months, several WtE projects in the city had been announced by different stakeholders. However, the source, India Today, does not say whether the plans of SDMC refer to one of them.
