The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has entered into an agreement with the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) to install a 5-tonne biogas waste to energy plant at the municipality’s Waste to Wonder Park in Sarai Kale Khan.

Millennium Post quoted SDMC Mayor Sunita Kangra as saying that the proposed plant will produce 700 cubic metres of biogas, which can generate around 1,400 units of electricity per day along with 500-600 kgs of organic manure. “The by-product of the plant will be used by SDMC in its parks as the organic manure,” she said.
