A committee appointed by the Supreme Court has approved the setup of a 10 MW WtE plant in Agra, following an expert review on the environmental impact of the plant. The WtE facility, which has been pending for the past three years, will be set up at the Kuberpur landfill site. A power purchase agreement (PPA) has already been signed between Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and Czech company, Spark Bresson Private Limited, for the construction and operation of the 500 tpd processing plant. According to Agra Municipal Corporation (AMC) officials, clearance is still required from relevant authorities before the project can move forward. This has been reported by the Energy Infra Post.
