Tariff determined for Brahmapuram WtE plant

According to The Times of India, after a delay of over two years, the tariff per unit of energy generated by the planned WtE plant in Brahmapuram has been determined. The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) fixed it with INR 6.17 per kWh and Indian-based electricity supplier Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEB) will buy electricity from the facility. The construction is implemented by GJ Eco Care Private Ltd under a public-private partnerships (PPP) and executed in two phases. The first phase includes a plant processing garbage and producing RDF and should be finalised in January 2019. The second part, entailing a gasification plant generating electricity from the RDF, is currently being planned. All in all, the project will cost around INR 295 crore (USD 43 million).
