Tata Chemicals to start lithium-ion battery recycling plant

Mumbai-based Indian chemicals company Tata Chemicals Ltd. has announced plans to set up a facility to recycle used lithium-ion batteries near Mumbai. At the proposed location, the company currently runs lithium-ion battery recycling operation at pilot scale, which according to the company has proven to be successful. This was reported in a Tata Chemicals press release. The plant commercially recovers lithium, cobalt, nickel and manganese from the used batteries.
