Tender floated for Varanasi Waste to Energy project

The tender for the 600 tpd Varanasi (also known as Benares) WtE plant, Uttar Pradesh, has been floated on 10 August 2021, according to a report by Jagran. The plant is based on torrefaction technology and is expected to be commissioned in the Ramna area by September 2022.

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited has invited online bids under a two-stage bidding process, as reported earlier by SolidWasteIndia. The bidding started in June 2021 and was scheduled to conclude by the end of July 2021.
