Tender for Deonar WtE project due in June

As a Detailed Project Report (DPR) is currently being prepared, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is looking to hold a tender in June to find an operator for its planned Deonar WtE facility. BMC previously appointed Tata Consulting Engineers to assess the plans. It was further stated that water needed at the plant is planned to be supplied by a wastewater treatment plant in Ghatkopar. According to earlier sources, opposition parties are raising concerns against the project because of the local waste’s low calorific value. This was reported by The Hindustan Times.
