Tenders for capping of Madikonda dumping yard soon

The Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) is gearing up to call tenders for capping of the Madikonda (Rampur) dumping yard. Madikonda landfill is located about 18 km away from Warangal city and is the only dumping yard for Madikonda since the last eight years.

A detailed project report has been prepared with an estimated cost of Rs 17 crore to cap the yard on the lines of the Jawaharnagar dumping yard, Hyderabad. Telangana Today has quoted authorities as saying that the agency that wins the bid has to complete the capping work within a year and maintain it for 10 years. The entire waste has to be pushed to one side of the 32-acre land fill and capping would be taken up. A public park is likely to come up in the area.
