Three bidders for Deonar WtE tender

India’s largest dumping ground is in Deonar, Mumb ai

After several hurdles, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that it finally managed to get 3 companies to bid for the WtE project in Deonar. One of them is from Europe and two are from India. The bidder should be awarded on a design, build and commissioning basis. As was reported on mid-day.com, the plant will have a capacity of 3,000 tons of waste per day and a power production capacity of at least 25 MW. BMC originally invited 5 to 6 foreign companies that had earlier shown an interest in the project and had to extend the deadlines multiple times since the tendering started in 2018.
