The Trichy Corporation has not yet installed semi-underground garbage bins almost eight months after procuring them, reports The Times of India.

The civic body has kept the two prototypes of the expensive bins at the corporation’s main office.

Corporation officials reportedly do not plan to place the bins since the city has gone bin-free since 2017. The future of the bins remains unclear since there is no clarity on whether the semi-underground bin project is dropped or still active.
