The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved a bio-energy policy in an effort to draw large investments and boost the state’s agricultural income. The goal of the policy is to encourage and support the state’s production of compressed biogas, biocoal, ethanol, and biodiesel.
The MSME (small and medium enterprises) policy, which aims to open and promote such units in all districts, was also given the green light by the Cabinet.
“The bio-energy policy will support rural employment by using organic waste for energy generation and help increase farm income by better utilising stubble, agricultural waste, and waste from sugar mills. Additionally, it will aid in the better utilisation of urban waste, according to a statement from the government, reports The Indian Express.
