Update on Chandigarh WtE project

The local government of Chandigarh is finalising its plans to build a new WtE plant at the site of the old Dadu Majra waste facility. The Dadu Majra plant is an RDF-plant, which has been active ever since the year 2008 and is operated by the Jaypee Group. The local Municipal Corporation has ended their contract with the Jaypee Group recently. The new facility is supposed to have an intake capacity of 128,000tpy of waste. No details have been revealed yet on the technology or other technical details of the project. In addition to the new WtE plant, the local Municipal Corporation aims at building a new compost plant in Maloya, with an intake capacity of 80,000-96,000tpy of waste. This was reported by local news source NYOOOZ.
