The general body meeting of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PPMC) has approved the establishment of the proposed Waste-to-Energy plant at the Moshi garbage depot, as The Times of India reported. The Moshi garbage depot will be used for central processing of about 800 tons of waste generated in the municipality every day. The construction will be carried out by Brazilian firm Lara Enviro and Indian agency Anthony Enviro Private Ltd for a period of 18 months. The plant would have a capacity to process around 1,000 tpd of waste and generate about 11.5 MWel. It would be carried out as a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) project for a period of 21 years.
