Update on Mavallipura WtE plant

According to the source, the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) has signed a memorandum of understanding with an unnamed French company for the realisation of the Mavallipura WtE plant. The MoU is aimed at setting up an 8MW waste-to-energy plant which will utilise 1,000tpd of mixed waste. The project is planned to be set up at a cost of INR 2 billion (EUR 24 million). The project will be funded through seeking of 35% subsidy from the state government, 25% from the Centre and the remaining from Mayor Fund. A tender is expected to be floated in August to launch the project.
