Katraj biogas plant closed since two years

A small-scale biogas plant that was successfully installed in Katraj, a suburb of Pune, Maharashtra, has been shut down two years ago, reported the Pune Mirror. The site has been used as a scrapyard ever since the plant was taken over by a new operator. As further stated in the source, the machinery had been stolen multiple times since construction of the plant. Initially, the facility was processing almost 25 tpd of waste (as ecoprog understands) and the capacity was later increased to process most of the waste having accrued in the ward.
