According to an article published by Tribune India, the Municipal Corporation (MC) of the city of Chandigarh intends to acquire 10 acres of land in Dadu Majra where it plans to erect a WtE plant. As a union territory the city does not belong to a federal state within India. At the intended site, an RDF production plant had been running since 2008, operated by the Jaypee Group, with whom the MC terminated its contract in the last house meeting.
