Upgraded Saligao plant ready for operations

The solid waste treatment plant at North Goa’s Saligao is ready for operations. As reported earlier on SolidWasteIndia, the plant has been enhanced to handle 250 tonne of waste from the earlier 100 tonne per day.

Currently, the facility at Saligao handles waste generated by 27 coastal village panchayats. The state government had issued the work order to Hindustan Waste Treatment Pvt Ltd in mid-2020 to expand the plant from 100 tonnes per day to 250 tonnes per day at a cost of over Rs 100 crore.
