Uttarakhand state government orders stop of RDF project

According to The Times of India, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has ordered to stop works on a waste management site to be located in Shishambara, near Dehradun. The waste site is planned to include an RDF production line as well as a composting unit and a sanitary landfill. Construction is handled by company Ramky Group on behalf of local authority Nagar Nigam Dehradun (NND). Apparently, the move aims at enabling additional public consultations on the project. Ramky and NNG are now planning to organise a meeting with the government to restart works as soon as possible.
