Bengaluru has received multiple offers by firms to turn the city´s solid waste into electricity, The Deccan Herald reports. According to agents of the firms the heating value of Bengaluru´s garbage would be adequate to generate energy. Among the bidders were Wescopower Generation Limited, which proposed the use of Korean technology, Movers India Private Limited, which recommended the use of gasification technology and several other companies. In general the bidders offered to utilise between 600 and 2.500 tonnes of garbage daily to generate 12-18 MW power.
