The Vengadamangalam WtE plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is in the process of terminating operations. Due to the Solid Waste Management Rules of 2016, which call for segregation and the decentralised processing of waste, the plant’s waste supply is expected to decrease significantly, making it unprofitable, as The New Indian Express reported.
