According to the mayor of Dhanbad, the city will be embarking on a comprehensive waste management project worth INR 2.7 billion (EUR 33 million). As reported by The Telegraph, the project will be executed in two phases. The first phase tender worth INR 760 million (EUR 9 million) will be issued by the ending of the month to select an agency, which will be in charge of the city’s waste management. The tender for the second phase, including the installation of a waste recycling plant, would be floated later this year. He added that around 35 acres had already been secured at Sindri on a 25-year lease for installing a Waste-to-Energy plant.
