Waste treatment plant to be built in Banguinim

As reported by The Herald, a solid waste management plant will be built by Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) in Banguinim, Goa. The total cost is expected to amount to INR 248.5 crores. The plant will treat mixed waste, segregated dry waste and segregated wet waste at a total capacity of 250 tonnes per day. It will be equipped with screeners, conveyor belts for manual sorting, magnetic separators as well as bailing, packing and storage facilities. Recycled products will be sold to reduce operating costs.
