Editor The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has proposed to set up a WtE plant in order to tackle the city’s waste management problems. This was reported by The Times of India. The facility should be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) and is planned to be located at the site of PCMC’s Moshi garbage depot. The civic body has already invited bids for tender prequalification. Pimpri Chinchwad produces around 800 tons of waste per day. PCMC has already worked on two WtE projects in the past, which have not been realised.
