The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) has announced its first WtE plant with a processing capacity of 300 tpd to be set up in Njeliyanparama in Kozhikode. The project cost is estimated to be around INR 250 crores. Bengaluru-based Zonta Infratech Private Ltd. will carry out construction and execution of the project. The electricity generated at the plant will be sold to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). According to the source, The Hindu, other WtE plants have been planned in Kerala, in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kannur and Malappuram.
