WtE project proposed for Nellore

The state government of Andhra Pradesh has proposed to set up a WtE plant in Venkatachalam, a village in the Nellore district. As said, the plant should be developed as a public private partnership (PPP) with Hyderabad-based company Enviro Care. It was indicated that plant investments would amount to between INR 3 and 4 billion (USD 44.2 million to USD 58.9 million), according to the source. However, it is not clear what kind of waste the facility is planned to treat. The project is part of a state government scheme aiming to set up 63 MW of WtE capacity.
