The Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Mr Mukesh Kumar has announced that the 15 MW Waste to Energy plant near Pirana at Gyaspur is likely to start operations by end of 2021.

The WtE facility is being set up by Abellon Clean Energy Ltd and has a capacity to handle waste amounting to 1000 tpd.

“This is part of our zero-waste city strategy to generate power from city waste with 15 MW power plant. Power generated shall be fed into national power grid,” the MC announced via his social media account.

The project has been delayed significantly since it was started in 2013.
