According to a new source, Karnataka Power Corporation Limited’s (KPCL) WtE facility in Bidadi, Karnataka, is not yet operational.

According to September 2023 information, the plant was scheduled to start operations within the 2 to 3 months. However, as per the current source, KPCL is still “setting up” the plant.

Previous sources reported that the 11.5 MW plant is expected to process 600 tpy of dry waste and faced difficulties because the central government decided not to grant subsidies for the project until after it was commissioned.
