Construction of Kochi CBG plant to start this month

Construction of the new CBG plant by oil and gas company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) at the Brahmapuram landfill in Kochi, Kerala. is scheduled to begin this month.

BPCL plans to complete the plant by 2025 and is expected to operate it for 25 years initially, with the possibility of a 10-year extension. The plant should have a processing capacity of 150 tpd of solid waste, with the possibility to be expanded to 180 tpd to produce 6 tpd of CBG.

The estimated cost of the plant is RS 1.1 billion (EUR 12.2 million).
