A BOT contract for a new WtE facility in Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra, has been awarded to an entity of 2 private companies at a value of INR 2.08 billion (EUR 26 million), according to The Times of India. The plant will be located at the Moshi garbage depot and has to be inaugurated within 1.5 years. The project was initiated by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, which called for an 11.5 MW plant processing 1,000 tons of waste per day. Once operational, the Municipal Corporation commits to buy the generated energy at a price of INR 5 (EUR 0.06) per unit, if the plant operator is not able to sell the energy on the market.
