Brahmapuram WtE plans approved

The council of the urban area of Kochi, Kerala, has voted in favour of the planned 300 tpd WtE plant in Brahmapuram, despite major criticism from the opposition. According to earlier information, it is not clear whether there is enough waste produced in the area for the plant to be feasible. According to the contract, the municipality may even have to pay a fine if it fails to provide enough fuel (see also issues 2014-21 and 2014-22). This was reported by the New Indian Express.
