Brahmapuram WtE project receives environmental permit

As reported by the Times of India, The Brahmapuram WtE facility in Kochi has passed the Environmental Impact Assessment. As previously reported, the development of the project already faced several hurdles so far. The responsible authority State Level Environment Impact Assessment Committee (SLEIAC) included several annotations to the project plan to meet the environmental requirements. GJ Eco Power Limited, a private company, is developing the INR 3.75 billion project. Once completed, it should have a treatment capacity of 300 tpd of MSW and generate up to 6 MWel.
