The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC), Tamil Nadu, will receive funds amounting to INR 700 million (EUR 8.7 million) under the Federal Government’s Swachh Bharat mission’s Solid Waste Management fund.

With these funds, a C&D waste plant that should cost INR 20 million (EUR 248,000) is to be developed, as well as a Waste-to-Energy plant, amongst other projects.

However, the source does not provide additional information on the WtE plans. The CCMC has sent proposals worth INR 300 million to the Federal Government for approval. Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for several projects are due to be prepared by the civic body.
