In January 2017, Indian company Neway Engineers MSW Private Ltd. was supposed to start the construction of a recycling plant for 200 tpd of construction and demolition (C&D) waste, which was expected to be built within a month. According to The Times of India, it was planned to locate the facility, worth a total of about EUR 1.1 million near the Ukkadam sewage treatment plant in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. According to the source, about 100 tpd of C&D waste are being generated in the city. However, as the firm has not started the construction yet, the city will terminate the contract and publish a new tender for the project.
