According to civic officials, the 2018-19 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) fiscal budget has an increased focus on ongoing projects. This was reported by Asian Age. One of the projects on the priority list is the Deonar Waste-to-Energy plant. The proposed facility is planned to start operations in 2020 and should be equipped with a capacity to incinerate 960 tpy of solid waste. The waste will be used for generating 30 MW of electricity.
