Feed-in tariff determined for Shimla WtE project

According to The Times of India, the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) has determined a feed-in tariff for the WtE plant proposed by the city authorities of Shimla. Under the ruling, the State Electricity Board will procure the facility’s power for INR 2.66 per kWh. However, under a scheme planned by the HPERC, this might be topped up by state subsidies of INR 7.34. Uncertainty remains about the plant’s proposed capacity: it was implied that treatment and generation capacities could amount to 300 tpd and 8.3 MW (200 MWh per day), while earlier reports mentioned figures of 80 tpd and 2 MW.
