First composting plant opened in Bihar

A composting plant has been opened in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, as part of a municipal programme aimed at improving the waste infrastructure in the city, according to an article by Waste Management World. The programme is a cooperation between Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation, the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), and waste service company, ITS Ltd. It envisages several compost centres in the city, which will be able to produce 25 tonness of compost daily. The inaugurated plant is the first composting plant in Bihar.
