Editor Periodic fires at the Deonar dumping site in Mumbai have led the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay to propose a plan for the capture of methane gases generated at the 12.7-million ton landfill. As reported by The Asian Age, implementation of the technical proposal for the methane gas capture has already been agreed upon by civic chief Ajoy Metha.
