According to government statistics, India was able to generate 31.3 terawatt hours of renewable energy between July and September 2017. This makes it the highest ever share with 9.4% of the total 334.6 terawatt hours. As reported by CleanTechnica, the country wants to reach the target of 175 gigawatts of energy from renewable source by March 2022, with 15 gigawatts expected from hydro, bioenergy and Waste-to-Energy plants.
