India and Brazil team up on bioenergy

India and Brazil have agreed to develop an Indian-Brazilian Alliance for Bioenergy and Biofuels to enhance the partnership between the two countries.

The partnership highlights the importance of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector and should focus, amongst other aspects, on biogas and biomethane policy and incentives and efficient heat and power generation in sugar and ethanol plants.

As also reported, the two countries also aim at promoting sustainable bioenergy and biofuels at the global level.
