The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) has announced that India intends to partner with Germany in order to promote biofuel technologies.

The plan includes to explore German experience in processing feedstocks such as rice straw and municipal waste. India is seeking affordable solutions and technological adjustments for biogas production.

This is in line with India’s goal of reducing the dependency on oil imports. The government intends to provide financial support for the purchase of biomass collection machinery in order to promote the growth of the biofuel sector.
